Kiehl’s Midnight recovery Concentrate – Review

Hello Loves and happy Monday!

Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the newest baby in my skincare collection. If you know the brand Kiehl’s I’m certain you’ve also heard about their bestseller Midnight Recovery Concentrate.

I’ve never owned anything from Kiehl’s since I simply couldn’t afford their products. But my boyfriend surprised me with this product for my birthday!

On Kiehl’s website they promote this product by writing:

  • Visibly reduces fine lines, refines skin’s texture and boosts radiance in just one night
  • Helps smooth and firm skin’s appearance
  • Boosts essential moisture to help restore the appearance of tired-looking skin
  • Replenishes skin at night when it is most receptive to repairing itself from daily aggressors
  • Absorbs easily with a lightweight texture
  • Leaves skin soft, supple and hydrated

Honestly, only after first use I could feel the difference in my skin! I’m not sure if it reduced any fine lines, but definitely did most things from the list!

Next morning my skin felt so fresh, moisturized, soft and glowy! From now on I use it under moisturizer or just by itself. I love how fast it sinks into the skin and doesn’t leave it feeling oily but rather nourished and hydrated.

After cleansing my face I take 3-5 drops and gently pat it on my skin with my fingertips.

The concentrate is a mix of oils but the scent is majority a lavender note. I was afraid it will be too strong for me since I’m not so keen on lavender, but it’s not and I enjoy applying it a lot. Something about using it makes me feel so happy! It takes just a minute but the whole process of getting ready to sleep seams a little bit more luxurious now.

The only down side to this product is the price. Since natural oils available in drugstores are usually not expensive, the price of this particular oil blend makes me think. But hey, this works wonders on my skin and I’m willing to save some money to get another bottle!

I definitely recommend it to anyone who can afford it or just wants to treat themselves or ask for it as a present!

Too Faced Natural Matte Eyeshadow Palette – Review

Hello Loves and happy Monday!

Today I would like to talk about my newest beauty purchase I made.

Few years ago I got my hands on Urban Decay Naked 2 palette which I was super faithful to for years. That time I wasn’t much into makeup as I’m now. I used to have just a few, very classic, popular and “safe” products and didn’t really experiment with new releases.

Gradually I’ve started to purchase more makeup products out of curiosity or simply to find the one (from every category of course :P). But since I had my Naked 2 I felt like I didn’t need any other. I usually like muted tones for my eye look. When I go crazy I usually turn to black or dark brown.

Few weeks ago when I stopped wearing glasses (laser eye surgery) I started to experiment with my eye looks more. I felt the need of all matte palette. I went to Sephora and somehow I ended up straight in front Too Faced stand. And I saw it! This Natural Matte palette was everything! But I didn’t take it right away. I made this decision sink in more and just sleep on it. I was debating in my head if I should take Naked Ultimate Basics since I love Urban Decay eyeshadow formula.

Last week I decided to pick up my baby. Without doubt I decided on Too Faced. Eyeshadows seamed so velvety and the packaging is goals. I also wanted to try something new! So here it (for a better colors’ reference please click here)!

I have to say guys that I’m not disappointed at all! Shades blend beautifully! Each one matches each one and I just love that! They feel so effortless, but classy. You can’t really go wrong with choosing any shades and mix them together.

I highly recommend to anyone who’s just starting with makeup (inside there’s a booklet with 3 looks you can create) or just needs a good all matte shadow palette as I did! Good job Too Faced! I’m definitely coming back for more soon! 😉

What is your favorite eyeshadow palette? Let me know in the comments!

Hello Loves! Hope you’re having great Monday!

It’s almost the end of the month and Summer and I just can’t believe it! It’s makes me so sad! Summer is my favorite season and it always happens so fast! But the good news is with the end of this month also comes new post of my month’s favorites to share with you! Let’s take advantage of those last warm days and now go straight to the post!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

The first fave item are those Topshop mom jeans I wore the hell out off since I got them! I was looking for a good mom fit a long time, but nothing I tried was a good fit. They were cut off in a wrong places, flattened my butt, looked weird in front or simply they were too buggy for my petite silhouette. These Topshop ones were on a big sale so I decided to risk it and order them online still being little skeptic how they will fit. But guys! They do and they are such a great fit! Love them so much! (with heels they look killer!)

Second favorite is my old fave Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. Probably most of you, who are a little bit into makeup, heard about this mascara! So what more can I say? It’s the best one yet I’ve tried, very affordable and easily buildable without the unnatural effect (I’m not a fan of spider lushes). My always very safe go to product.

Third fave is my new Hoola Matte Bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics. I recently purchased it in Sephora. Finally! In a previous month’s favorites I’m gushing over Bronze Goddess by Esteé Lauder with never trying Hoola. Well, I did try it and it’s amazing! I have to say it’s not surprising to me anymore that so many people love this product! It’s so pigmented and flattering most of the skintones! It’s just gorgeous! I’m in love! ❤FullSizeRender

And last but not least is my fave fragrance atm! I’m just obsessed! If you want to find out why, just click HERE for a separate post I made about this baby!

What are your month’s favorites? Let me know!

Hello Loves and happy Monday!

This month I loved the most those 4 items I’m gonna share with you! Three of them are makeup products perfect for the hot summer weather and for getting that bronzed no makeup look!

Let’s start with the bronzer!

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

This Estee Lauder Bronzer is the only bronzer I ever had purchased and used. But let me tell you. Oh boi! It’s a winner! It’s so natural and since now I’m more tanned than usual (read: tanned at all) it gives me that amazing summer bronzy glow and warmth. I love to use it everyday. You can get it in 4 different shades, I went for medium. Nowadays my morning routine consists only of Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream, some Sephora concealer for my purple undereyes, this bronzer and Benefit Ka-Brow! to give my brows more definition and I’m good to go! So minimal, but I feel great! I never felt so good while using so little makeup! This gorgeous bronzer really makes you feel like a bronze Goddess! And come on, the packaging is just goals! ❤

(I love this one a lot, but still need to try the classic of the classics Benefit Hoola! Have you tried it yourself?)

Second fave that I already mentioned is Ka-Brow! by Benefit. I was looking for something that could define my brows a little bit more than brow mascara I use everyday from NYX. This product gives me everything I always was looking for. I don’t like brow pencils anymore because I get through them way to fast. With this, I feel like it’s gonna last me a decent amount of time and it has a super-duper cute tiny brush to go with it. What more a girl can wish for from a brow product?

With this NYX Setting Spray I can really see the difference with how my makeup stays on the whole day. I use it on days that I know I’ll be spending out or for a special events. Before I was using it everyday instead of powder, but I’ve learnt it can make my skin a little dry, so I just prefer to go with a translucent powder and touch up my makeup if necessary. The price is very good for the quality. Definitely gonna go for a second bottle when this one finishes.

Do you have your favorite setting spray? Please, tell me in the comments! I’d love to try something new!

Last favorite of this month are my new Steve Madden stilettos! I got them as a gift from my boyfriend and I love them so so much! I’m not used to such a high heel (12 cm/4.7 inches) and I couldn’t save my live by walking in them, but I’m trying! I put them on almost everyday and just practise while cleaning the house or cooking. I can already catch my balance so… haha! Those shoes are very comfortable considering their hight and shape but are definitely not shoes made for walking. Or at least a lot of walking. Who is super brave and strong (and my role model) and walks in these kind of shoes without problem?? I want to salute you!

Sephora Face Masks review

Hi Loves and happy Monday!

For today’s post I prepared a review of two Sephora Masks. One is a full face rose mask and second one is just a charcoal nose strip.

On Saturday I decided to pumper myself and use the full face rose mask ($6). It is supposed to brighten and moisturize your skin. I kept it on, as it said on the packaging, for 15 mins and have to say the whole process was really relaxing and felt very luxurious (I’m not used to do masks often as you can tell). After those 15 minutes I took it off and instantly felt refreshed. I massaged any leftovers of the mask into my skin. Honestly, I could feel that mask helped me with moisturizing my face more than I could see it. So visually I didn’t see much difference. Although my skin felt great! Did it brighten my complexion? I don’t think so. If so, then very slightly.

fullsizeoutput_69

The nose strip I used on my boyfriend because he was asking me if I have this super famous black peel off mask, which I didn’t. I offered him this Sephora one and he was quite pleased with the result. Before using it don’t forget to read the instructions! I didn’t pay attention that nose, beside being clean, should also be damp. But after all, with a little help of wet towel, it got stuck to my love’s nose and worked as promised. Results were ok, without revelation. I think you could find something better for that price ($3).

Will I use this again? The nose strip – I don’t think that I’ll bother with it. The rose face mask – Maybe yes, before important event or just to pamper and spoil myself a little bit!

Did you use some of Sephora masks? Which ones? Did you like them or not? Share below! I’d love to hear about your masks experiences!

P.S. Keep your eyes peeled on the next post! It will be my June favourites!

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream – Review

Hello Loves! Hope you have a great Monday!

For this week’s post I decided to do a review of Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream which I’ve recently purchased. And guys…! I LOVE it!

In a few posts back I was raving about Garnier BB cream and how perfect it was for my super pale complexion. I still love it though! The thing is I’m leaving with my bae for holidays July 16th to Bulgaria and since I’m so pale and easily get a sun burn (I never get tanned, always red 😭)  my boyfriend suggested that maybe I should go to solarium few times before our trip. And so I did (soon I’ll make a post about the whole experience being first time in solarium). Now I’m way darker than I used to be (read: just not so pale anymore). Any foundation/bb cream which back then was too dark for me (that’s why I switched for Garnier BB cream in shade extra light)  now is too light!

For a few days I didn’t wear any makeup but I didn’t feel comfortable enough to keep it that way. First I wanted to go to Sephora and buy a good quality bb cream from Nars or Clinique. Then I thought I don’t know how long I’ll stay that tanned and if I decide to keep it after vacation with trips to solarium or fake tanner. I decided to not spend that much money and look for a cheaper option. So I went to my drugstore to look for something that will fit my current skin tone. I was going to pick something from L’oréal but I think they just had a sale because the stand was a mess and they didn’t have a lot of products. Then I walked up to Borjois and Rimmel stands. In both I found bb creams I liked but couldn’t decide between them. I checked reviews on the internet and definite winner was Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream.

It’s not too expensive (costs around $13), it was on sale for half price so without thinking I picked it up! I chose shade 32 light beige and it matches my skin tone perfectly! I haven’t found any other foundation/cc/bb cream to match me this good! I was amazed! The only bad thing is that it is only available (at least where I bought it) in 4 shades. Some are with pink some with yellow undertones. It is definitely not enough colors for everyone. The cc cream itself is very liquid and you don’t need much to cover your face, so you have to be careful with that. I saw that it looks best applied with BeautyBlender or other makeup sponge. With fingers it looks a little bit too heavy for me. It has very good and natural coverage. I use BioOil as a moisturizer and it leaves me with a very dewy, gorgeous and glowing skin. Sometimes I like to powder my T zone. And what is super important it stays on face way longer than any bb or cc cream I’ve tried! It’s my holy grail now!

Let me know if you have used it! Do you like it or not so much? Will you try it?

SILICONE MAKEUP SPONGE review – Yay or Nay?

Hello Loves! Happy Monday!

For this week’s post I’ve decided to write a review of Silicone Makeup Sponge everybody is so crazy about at the moment.

silisponge_4_1024x1024.jpg

First of all I really like the idea of a makeup applicator that is so cheap ($9.90) and poreless which means it super easy to clean and what’s most important it doesn’t soak up any of the product! I am a very big fan of the famous original BeautyBlender and honestly very consistent purchaser.

When I’ve heard about this “perfect” but so weird product that will help me achieve even better results that my beloved BeatyBlender I was skeptical but also very intrigued. As I saw that it was available in my country still only online I just kept using my BeautyBlender. Then one time I saw it in my drugstore and it was super cheap so I just decided to buy it and try it out myself. Check how it actually works and if it’s worth the hype.

Well,  I tried to use it with my L’oréal True Match foundation and to be honest I hated it. I ended up finishing it with my fingers. Then I dotted concealer over my dark circles and any hyperpigmentations. I have to say it worked better with this more “heavy” formula. After that time I never picked it up again while doing my makeup. It took a lot of time to blend foundation with and I’m usually on the rush in the mornings. I just found it useless.

I’ve decided to make this post few days ago and before writing strictly negative review I wanted to give it one more try, just to be sure. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? I’ve searched in google how to use silicone makeup sponge and to my surprise I found a lot of tips and reviews! I’ve read that one girl didn’t like it at first exactly as me. She edited her review saying that she gave it only one star at first before she read the instructions that came with her sponge. I started to dig deeper and look through multiply tutorials.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

  • you’re supposed to use that “flat” side to blend
  • use just half amount of foundation as you would normally because it doesn’t soak up any product
  • you should blend it into your skin with circular motions or up and down till it will not be blendable any more, then tap to your skin.
  • to get to problematic places like around your nose and around eyes you can fold it creating a pick

Today, very well-educated about this product I gave it one more chance. Recently I changed my makeup routine a bit so I started with concealer first. A little goes a long way with this silicone sponge so I kept blending and blending and blending even more. I was going by all those tips I’ve learned and I have to be cruel but I still don’t like it at all. Aplication is horrible. It hurt my face. I kept making touch ups on my face with my fingers because my skin felt really cakey. I felt like it doesn’t want to blend foundation well enough into my skin leaving a lot of built up product in place you start blending. I was really frustrated and it took so much time to work foundation into my skin, to look decent, so personally I felt like it’s just not worth it. My skin also looked surprisingly dry and patchy in some places which never happened before while using BeautyBlender. Moreover BeautyBlender is so much faster and easier and you don’t even need to work half as hard to achieve that flawless effortless look. I don’t care it soaks up foundation and that you have to repurchase it quite often and it’s a bother to keep it clean all the time. Either way if I ever get fed up with it I’ll always have my fingers! Maybe I still need to practise working with this silicone sponge, but for now I’m not ready to give it a 3rd try to mess up my makeup!

Did you try it? You liked it or hated like me? Share in comments! I’m very curoius what you think!
